COMMUNITY COLLABORATOR QUICK START GUIDE

You don't need to start an organization to help your community.

A Community Collaborator helps connect people, resources, ideas, and existing work.

Participate once, occasionally, or regularly.

No title required. No minimum hours. No need to lead a chapter.

1. PICK SOMETHING YOU CARE ABOUT

It could be:

Food
Housing
Schools
Environment
Transportation
Local businesses
Parks + nature
Community resources
Youth
Accessibility
Local government
Something else

You don't have to choose a permanent focus.

2. SEE WHAT ALREADY EXISTS

Before creating something new, search for:

Local nonprofits
Community organizations
Government programs
Schools + universities
Businesses
Libraries
Existing projects

Ask:

Who is already working on this?

What resources already exist?

What's actually missing?

3. MAKE A CONNECTION

Your contribution can be simple.

Introduce two organizations.

Send someone a useful resource.

Connect a school with a community organization.

Tell an organization about an existing program.

Share a successful idea from another community.

Invite someone into a project.

Sometimes the connection is the action.

4. TAKE ONE STEP

You could:

Send an email
Make an introduction
Attend a meeting
Volunteer
Research an issue
Share a resource
Contact a local official
Help an existing project
Bring an idea to your community

You don't need a complete project.

5. SHARE WHAT WORKS

If you find a useful program, organization, resource, solution, or idea, share it with PTC.

What works in one community may help another community avoid starting from zero.

Find what already exists. Connect what is separated. Build what's actually missing.

Community over separation.
